| The Tampa Jazz Club was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1995, with the objective of “generating interest in preserving, understanding and performing jazz.” We’ve held Sunday concerts for the last several years at HCC's Performing Arts Building Mainstage Theatre as well as the Gorilla Theatre in Drew Park, and the Springs Theatre in Sulphur Springs, including some great regional and national artists in what’s become one of Tampa’s best ongoing cultural events. The Tampa Jazz Club is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Also, since 2003, we have awarded Tampa Jazz Club scholarships to graduating Hillsborough County high school seniors (many with matching funds from the Unsinkable Molly Brown Foundation), who went on to study jazz performance or education. To date, we have awarded $14,750 to 12 graduates, including the popular young flute phenom and recording artist Jose Valentino. The Tampa Jazz Club is committed to encouraging talented young jazz students and to presenting great live jazz in Tampa. |
